Canada's Belinda Stronach:
Finally, a fresh face in Canadian politics, and a woman no less. I can't say I know much about her views, but a few points can be made. Canada will be a much better place with a stronger female presence in politics. Worldwide woman are not represented anywhere near strongly enough. The job done by the men leaves a great deal to be desired, so why not give the ladies a chance. Women, in general, are not driven as much by ego as men. As such they are more inclined to make rational judgments than knee jerk reactions. I really can't say whether she would be any better or not, but something definitely needs to change and she might be a good start.
The opponents are already starting with the bullshit. Labeling her Barbie is just the start. I for one find this offensive. So far as I can tell Belinda appears to be a very intelligent woman who probably has a whole lot more to contribute than a doll. It reflects very badly on the men when the best rebuttal they can come up with to Belinda's campaign is a Barbie add. Come on guys. Lets break with tradition and make your campaign about the issues and intelligence instead of the mindless name calling that we are all so very tired of.
