Global Warming:
Scientist now say that over 1 million species will disappear before the year 2050 because of global warming. This represents more than one-third of all species. This is the scariest prediction I have yet heard.
Even more scary is some of the comments we've heard lately concerning this. On the news in Ontario some people have suggested that this might be bad for the rest of the world but for Ontario this would be a good thing.
Big News Flash: To anyone who feels this would be a desirable effect. Consider drought on a scale never seen by humans. Consider thawing of the perma-frost releasing an unprecedented amount of greenhouse gas. Consider rising water levels all over the globe. Consider the death toll world wide by our shortsightedness. Consider the conflicts which will break out as humans become more desperate to survive. Consider the even greater profits multi-nationals will earn as they capitalize on that growing desperation. Consider the possibility that the global ecosystem may not survive this drastic a change in what might normally take millions of years.
Oh Yeah, this is a good thing. Comments of this type are irresponsible, ignorant, and damn dangerous as there just might be people out there as stupid as the person who made them, and who might believe it.
